Week of Aug. 18, 2014

This week we completed talking about the expectations of the class.  We viewed a commencement speech by the Naval SEAL Adm. McRaven, and compared his words of wisdom for success to our Spanish class.  If you have a few minutes it is worth watching.

We continued with greetings and will be completing practice assessments in preparation for our first exam.  Students are learning how to ask, appropriately answer and say the following:
Good morning.
How are you?
What's your name?
Nice to meet you.
Many different good-byes

and the cultural gestures that go along with meeting someone new.

The summative assessment over this information will be at the end of August.
